This is Saint Fils.  This is the little girl that my kids chose to support in Haiti through HELP‘s HELP One Now initiative.  She’s 8 years old, she’s lost both parents, and for my family she is the face of the destruction in Haiti.  She’s also a reminder my children and my wife and me of what God has done in my life.

You see there was a time when I was spiritually orphaned – helpless, hopeless, and isolated.  And while I was in that state – with no possibility of helping myself or willing myself to survival – Jesus came and adopted me into his family.  And that has changed everything.

While I can only imagine the difference $35 each month will make in this little girl’s life – providing her a home, food, clothing, medicine and education – it fails to compare to the gift that I’ve been given.  So my action is to continue to support her and the work of HELP, and my prayer is that God will adopt her as well.
