Ever since the moment I encountered children while on my first mission trip, I’ve been hooked on doing everything I can to help them achieve a better life. My purpose during that 2009 trip to Kenya and Uganda was to teach business skills classes to adults who were clients of a microfinance program. But it was the children who captured my heart.
Since then I’ve been on trips to other places like Haiti where I had the pleasure of living in an orphanage with a group of boys who were being cared for by a local pastor and his wife. And there I had the opportunity to witness first-hand just how little they had, especially compared to the abundance that I was used to.
That’s why I’m excited to be partnering with HELP One Now to make sure that the basic needs of children in places like Haiti, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Uganda are being met. In fact, my family is so excited that we’ve sponsored a child in Haiti!
HELP One Now works to rescue children from the effects of extreme poverty, restore hope by providing for basic needs, and renew their communities with long-term, sustainable development.
