FAQ
More info about Help End Local Poverty:
H.E.L.P. is a grassroots organization that hopes to eradicate extreme poverty by starting a movement of Love, Hope and Story. Our desire is to partner with local leaders in key global hotspots and help that leader end local poverty by sharing their story. As we share their story we can create partnerships in the West (churches, businesses, individuals, youth groups, etc) and together we can help end local poverty in developing nations.
How can we help end local poverty?
Good question, glad you asked! As a young organization, we want to have a laser focus. Therefore, we want to do two things to help end local poverty:
1. Rescue Orphans: We’ve created CTEP to raise the necessary funds to help build new orphanages across the globe. It’s a simple concept, you sell and item, or throw a garage sale party and donate the proceeds to HELP. We will use 100% of those funds to help build an orphanage. Our first orphanage will be build in Zimbabwe in 2010.
2. Restore Orphans through monthly support. $35 can go along way. Each month we can begin to restore a child’s soul as they have food, clean water, proper medicine and clothing. We hope to create a pathway of journey. Here is what that means, how can you help end local poverty in developing countries? When you donate $35 each month, you are giving a child a chance to live and thrive. But, we also want you to journey with this child. You can do that by: Writing letters, sending pictures and Christmas gifts, etc! BTW-we really believe this is a double-blessing relationship. The donor will be blessed and they create a friendship and see this child grow, mature and get educated.
Our hope is quite simple, if we can help the local leader care for the kids in that community, than the local leader will have the necessary time and focus to create healthy pathways for holistic development. HELP has a strategic process to help us determine who and where to invest. Long-term development and sustainability is vital in that process.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes, Help End Local Poverty is a 501(c)3 organization. When you give via Paypal you will automatically receive a receipt for your records. Also, each January HELP will send you an “end-of-the-year” statement.
